Rebecca is highly respected by her
colleagues for her beautiful calm and professional nature. Ann
Oliver insists she was the corner stone to the success of sauchin
04 because she is
one of those truly rare consummate and loyal professionals who
will work as long as it takes to do a good job. She never questions
the hours or the commitment and
as a consequence is continuously building on her skills like all
truly great cooks are. Ann acknowledges without Rebecca the difficulties
of restaurant and hotel promotions could be overwhelming.
Rebecca and Ann have worked together since 2003 when Rebecca came
on the opening team for the Ramada Plaza Pier Hotel at Glenelg,
South Australia. Although Rebecca now has her own high profile
she continues to work with Ann for special events.
Since the first sauchin promotion at Laris Shanghai in 2004, Rebecca has continued to build upon her career and reputation. Two years with the legendary chef Le to Thai at the multi– winning Bridgewater Mill Restaurant she took the position of sous chef at Enoteca Restaurant where with her colleagues she has managed to bring great acclaim to the establishment.
In July 08 Rebecca was the South Australian state finalist for the Lexus
Vogue Australia — Young Chef of the Year competing in Melbourne
for the national title which was announced in August and rewarded
her with a brilliant second place in the national title. www.youngchef.com.au
Rebecca has recently been appointed head chef of the highly acclaimed Augé Ristorante
(Adelaide, South Australia) and will take up the position mid August.
The sauchin team looks forward with great excitement to seeing
her blossom. Rebecca Stubbs at just 28 is well positioned to be
a major player in the Australian wine and food industry and in
addition to food she has a deep commitment to learning about wine.
